Clayton Brown, Director/Producer of We Believe In Dinosaurs
From the director’s website
I'm a narrative and documentary filmmaker interested in exploring the hidden stories and compelling characters that emerge when people pursue their passions. I’m particularly interested in how science and storytelling intersect, both in fiction and nonfiction.
I’m a co-founder and executive director of 137 Films, an award-winning Chicago-based documentary production company committed to telling long and short stories about America’s strange relationship with science.
My fiction films feature strong, intelligent female characters who don't conform to what's expected of them and male characters who have doubts about what they know.
My films have screened at national and international festivals and have won the Pariscience Audacity Award, the Chicago International Film Festival’s Gold Hugo for Best Documentary, The Maryland International Film Festival Best Documentary, the Chicago IFP Production Fund, and Best Short in the Lake Michigan and Albany film competitions. I teach film production at Northwestern University's Department of Radio/TV/Film.
