Join us for Paint the Small Town, an exciting en plein air painting event happening during the Small Town America Festival in downtown Mt. Sterling! Artist check-in will take place from 8:00–9:00 AM at the Gateway Regional Arts Center, and the creative fun runs from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM. Grab your brushes, pencils, pens, or markers—whatever tools bring your vision to life—and claim your perfect downtown spot to create a masterpiece inspired by the charm of small-town Kentucky. The first 10 artists to register will receive a $25 stipend!

This event is open to all artists—not just plein air painters—so bring your unique style and join in the celebration of creativity. In the evening, return to GRAC for a public reception and awards ceremony from 5:30–7:00 PM, where all submitted works will be showcased and available for purchase. Cash prizes will be awarded to winning artists, so don’t miss your chance to make art, make memories, and maybe even take home a prize!
